Water Conservation in Action - 7471 Hollywood Boulevard

Dear Owner and Residents of 7471 Hollywood Boulevard,

7471 Hollywood Blvd

As you may, or may not know, under the City’s water conservation ordinance it is illegal to (1) water using sprinklers on any day other than Monday and Thursday, (2) use water on any hard surfaces such as sidewalks, walkways, driveways or parking areas, and (3) allow runoff onto streets and gutters from excessive watering. Southern California is currently experiencing a water supply shortage so we thank you for helping to conserve our precious water supply.

One more thing.

As you can see from the timestamp on the photos, I took these pictures on Tuesday, December 8th; a day after the City received almost an inch in rainfall. So not only is the landscape being watered on the wrong day it is also being watered the day AFTER a storm event.

They say Mother Nature works just a good as a sprinkler, better even.

Here's a suggestion-- invest in a weather-based "Smart" irrigation controllers. Smart Irrigation Controllers (with weather sensor equipment) can automatically adjust the irrigation schedule in response to changing environmental conditions; saving you money and saving our water. Even better, the Metropolitan Water District is offering rebates on qualified (pdf) Smart Irrigation equipment. Act fast, as funding for the rebate program is limited.

Sincerely,

Hollywood Unbound
