- CAO report (.pdf) relative to the Year-End Financial Status Report for Fiscal Year 2011-12.
- Per the report, the City is currently facing a deficit of $37.2 million, which is attributed, in part, to “increased expenditures for bank fees and the Fire Department's sworn staffing, delays in Police and Fire grant receipts and bank fee reimbursements, a net decrease in General Fund revenue from the adopted budget, and the reconciliation of related cost reimbursements that will impact the General Fund”. The report recommends various adjustments and funding transfers (including a “loan” of $5.5 million from the City’s Reserve Fund) in order to resolve the budget deficit.
